St. Clare’s Class (Year 5)
This term, we will be continuing to explore our topic of ‘Extreme Weather’ linked to our book Floodland. The children have been really engaged and enjoying the story so far and have demonstrated some excellent knowledge of extreme weather and its effects on both the environment and people’s lives.
They are currently designing and preparing a model of a flood-proof house in our Design and Technology project ‘Beat the Flood’. They will have the opportunity this term to test their models to see if they really were able to beat the flood!
In Maths, we will be focussing on Multiplication and Division. I have attached a link that outlines the methods that we will be using for both multiplication and division for your own reference at home. Mastery Calculations Policy
Thank you so much for all the Learning Log’s last term. It was a real pleasure to explore them and delve into the fascinating projects the children had created. This term the Learning Log is all about ‘Home and Away’. To find out more information about this, you can click on the information button below that outlines this topic.
P.E. will continue to be on Tuesday afternoons. It is getting chillier, so the children may wear a navy tracksuit and trainers for our P.E. sessions.
Homework will still be collected in on a Thursday and returned to you on a Friday.
Thank you for your continued support,
