Welcome back after the half term break – myself and Mrs Davis hope that you had an enjoyable break.

With Christmas on the horizon, it will be a crammed term in Year 6!  This term in English, we will complete Tom’s Midnight Garden as our base novel. We shall explore various writing outcomes including memoirs, poetry, narrative, and characterisation.

We will also prepare an instructional text based on our products for the inaugural Virtual St. Benedict’s Christmas Market.

In Maths, we will study the many aspects of Fractions as well as lots of reasoning as we apply our maths skills to practical situations.

In Science, we will complete the focus on Light and begin the topic of Animals Including Humans. We will investigate various body systems and healthy living using scientific criteria.

We will complete our topic on 'Britain since 1948', taking a decade-by-decade look at the countless technological, social and political developments in Britain over this period. PE this term be Basketball and Multi-Skills, and will take place outside on Tuesday afternoons. Please ensure that your children have their full PE kit.

Please also ask your children to remember to wear coats to school. Rain, cold winds and frost are in the forecast!
