Mission Statement
We will show love and compassion to everyone
and we will always tell the truth. We will have
the confidence and independence to become
resilient learners and will always trust in Jesus.
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all the children in to year 2 and I hope you are all as excited as I am! After a restful summer holiday, I am sure you are all eager and ready to get stuck into your learning; we have incredibly exciting topics and themes to explore during term 1 (please see curriculum overview also on the year 2 page).
The children will be doing Forest School on a Friday afternoon and we are requesting they come to school in their forest school clothing, wearing their school shoes. Please ensure your child brings their wellies in a separate plastic bag which can be left at school ready for forest School each week. It is also important for your child to have a water bottle in class, especially when the weather is still warm.
Children learn best when there is good parental involvement so please ensure you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week and record this in their reading diary. Homework and spellings will be set via Class Dojo on a Friday and should be completed by the following Friday. Please make sure you put time aside for your child to complete these activities. Do talk to me if you have any queries regarding homework as I am always happy to help.
