Mission Statement
Our mission is to:
Always have faith in ourselves (even when we feel down) and in the Lord because he will always be by our side to help us.
Always trust our friends, family, teachers and our lovely Mrs Amos because they will always guide us when we feel lost or in need.
Always embody and express diligence and strive to do our best so we feel accomplished in all we have achieved.
Always follow our dreams, be confident in our abilities, compassionate no matter what and honest in all we say and do.

Welcome to St. Clare’s Class!
Happy New Year everyone! Year 5 have started 2026 with great determination and resilience.
This term our topic is ‘A local study’ which has a geography focus. It is fantastic for the children to explore, and share their knowledge of, the place we live. We will be looking at human and physical features of Medway and link to our historical understanding of settlements. We will also be going on walk of our local area to see how the land is used and drawing our own maps.
After the half term, we will be going to Chatham Theatre for a singing festival- more information to follow!
Our class book this term is ‘The London Eye Mystery’ by Siobhan Dowd and we will be using this to drive our English lessons.
Class Information:
· P.E. will be on a Tuesday and Thursday.
· Spellings and Timestables will still be tested on a Thursday.
Homework
Homework is set on a Friday through the Class Dojo website and should be completed by the following Friday morning.
A quick reminder that I am unable to reply to messages or comments through the Class Dojo website and that any queries regarding homework should be sent through the office.
Homework Expectations:
- Reading their school book a minimum of 3 times a week to an adult
- Spelling Practice
- Mathletics
- Timestable Rock Stars
- SPAG.com
