ST. CLARE’S CLASS (YEAR 5)

Mission Statement
Our mission is to:
Always have faith in ourselves (even when we feel down) and in the Lord because he will always be by our side to help us.
Always trust our friends, family, teachers and our lovely Mrs Amos because they will always guide us when we feel lost or in need.
Always embody and express diligence and strive to do our best so we feel accomplished in all we have achieved.
Always follow our dreams, be confident in our abilities, compassionate no matter what and honest in all we say and do.

Welcome back to term 2 St. Clare’s Class!
Last term the children were very fascinated with our Anglo-Saxon topic! This term, we will continue to be historians by exploring if the Vikings were raiders, traders or somethings else. We will be looking at different primary and secondary sources and thinking about how useful they can be.
This term, we will continue to be reading our class book which is ‘Floodland’ by Marcus Sedgewick and we will be using this to drive our English lessons.
Class Information:
-PE will continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday.
-Spellings and Timestables will be tested on a Thursday.
-Homework is set on a Friday through the Class Dojo website and should be completed by the following Friday morning.
A quick reminder that I am unable to reply to messages or comments through the Class Dojo website and that any queries regarding homework should be sent through the office.
Homework Expectations:
-Reading their school book a minimum of 3 times a week to an adult (please record this is their reading record book)
- Spelling Practice
- Mathletics assigned task.
-Spag.com assigned tasks.
- Timestable Rock Stars (10 minutes a week).
-Learning logs- Our first theme for our learning logs this year is ‘Stargazers’ I'm excited to see your space themed work due back in before Christmas.
