Hello! Welcome to St Joseph’s class page.
We are the youngest in our school and love to learn through play! We develop our children’s Spiritual growth alongside daily Phonics, Maths and Literacy lessons. Children are also encouraged to lead their own learning through play to develop their understanding of the world around them creatively whilst developing socially and emotionally. Adults facilitate in order to move learning forward.
The links below have our termly overviews so you can see exactly what that learning looks like.
We nurture the love of reading and base our topics around different books each term. Your child will have a reading book matched to their ability, which will be changed on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You will also find logins for home learning, inside your child’s reading record and homework will be set weekly via our class dojo platform.
As well as supporting physical development in class by developing our fine and gross motor skills, our P.E day is on a Wednesday (so please ensure kits are in school)
We are fortunate to have a wonderful forest school which we will visit every Thursday. Children come to school in their Forest school clothes and have a spare set (including socks) in their book bag in case they get wet. Please remember to LABEL ALL CLOTHING items.
We have healthy fruit and vegetable snacks each day. Children can bring in a piece of fruit for a snack at break time. Milk is provided for children who are still aged four. If your child is five and you wish for them to have milk please contact the office.
Our door is always open and we truly value our parent partnerships.
We look forward to working with you and watching your child flourish!
